de Esperanza President's Report--Max Perry, President
I want to begin by welcoming back all
our neighbors who have been gone for
the holidays and any who have come to
spend the rest of the winter in Esperanza
Estates. It's good to have everyone here. The remainder of the meeting was completed smoothly. Several committees reported their activities for 2005 and offered plans for 2006. Without exception we have highly qualified and motivated leaders and volunteers in each activity. It makes my job much easier and I truly appreciate all their efforts. 2006 promises to be a successful and exciting year and I'm looking forward to everyone working hard to keep Esperanza Estates the best neighborhood in Green Valley. Enhancement Committee - By Tess Ewing Our garage sale is coming up on January
28, at 8:00 am at 758 Ensalmo (the Ellingsons).
Bev Brow, the organizer, said it's going
to be one of our best ever -- with everything
from furniture and small appliances to
household and patio items. It's not too
late to donate to this fund raiser. Call
for pick up: Don't forget Sheila Bennen and Melodye
Cooke will be offering coffee and muffins
at the Ramada during the garage sale.
They need volunteers to: (1) bake muffins
- your recipe or mix will be supplied;
(2) make cookies or bread; (3) donate
fruit from your tree (we will pick for
you if you want). Call: Marvol Barnard is organizing a fun event for March 1 -- the EE Golf Tournament. Even if you have already indicated you would like to play, she needs a call from you to confirm this and she needs to know your handicap. Call Marvol - 648-5925 We are planning to hold our annual auction in early March. Wondering why all the fund raisers?? Thanks to all your support of our functions, $10,000 was spent bricking the Ramada and installing cabinets and purchasing patio tables and chairs. A much neglected area was turned into Sunset Park. With pending changes to our Ramada, we are anticipating the need for more patio furniture, etc. Because of the very creative and energetic hospitality committees (the former and present), our Ramada is a very active gathering place to enjoy good food and meet friends. Advertisements - By Sheila Bennen We would encourage
each of you to ask any "trade person" that
you feel does an excellent job to place
an ad in the Periodico. We would like
our homeowners to have a list of reliable
people to call. We would like a copy
ready ad. Please call Sheila Bennen at
399-0501 for more information. The GVCCC Directory Distribution: The Green Valley Community Coordinating Council (GVCCC) 2006 Directory will be delivered to your door by the Periodico deliverers. (One copy to each home- additional copies will be available after the 23rd.) Please leave your gate open on the 22nd for the delivery. No directories will be left at a gate, and none will be delivered to vacant homes. Open the directory right away to check your listing. If the listing needs correction, or if you are not listed and would like to be listed in the next (2007) directory please give me a call. Charl Petry 648-2541 New/Former Owners - By Sheila BennenNew: Deborah and Robert Wright 202 Circulo Napa Former: Dale Brown Common Areas Report -By Ken Miller & Tom Cooke, Chairs It is sometimes helpful in considering
our common areas to know that they consist
of approximately 22 acres in EE, and
their proper upkeep demands a good portion
of our annual budget. This being the
case, we are pleased to be able to report
that the status of the common areas is
good. Hospitality Committee By Sam Barnard -Co-Chairman This month's hospitality event was held on January 10th at the Pool Ramada. our Hospitality committee members cooked both Vegetarian and Beef Chile, along with Corn bread and all the condiments. We again had a large attendance and served 128 residents and their guests. We were very happy to get to see and visit with our neighbors and friends and especially glad to see that their appetites are in good order, as everything eatable simply vanished. On Tuesday, February the 14th (Valentines Day) we are planning a Free Valentines Day Happy hour / appetizer Party. We will have drinks, cheese, meat snacks, veggie snacks and a Special Valentines Day cake. We will serve between 4 and 5 P.M. This will still allow you time to take your favorite Valentine out to dinner! So please stop by and visit with us. Your Hospitality team members have planned this special Valentines Day Social for you because we just LOVE having your support and participation at all of our events. Valentines Day Happy Hour Hospitality Mission Directories - By Sheila Bennen The new 2006 Esperanza Estates Directories
are now on sale. They are new and improved
and list owners alphabetically and current
residents by street address. They are
a must item for residents. The directories are $ 3 apiece and the Cook books are a bargain at $5. They will be on sale at the bake sale or you may call Sheila Bennen (399-0501) or Melodye Cooke (399-0455) to have them delivered if you cannot make it to the sale. Bake Sale - By Sheila Bennen We need your help. We need people to bake muffins ( we will supply the mix). We also need people to bake cookies, cakes, bread or whatever your specialty is. We will be selling coffee, muffins, hot dogs, pop, baked goods, fresh citrus fruit, directories, and cook books. We need a few people to help at the sale. Melodye and I cannot do it all so please help us get this thing off the ground. This is a perfect occasion for newcomers to join and help us make this a success. Please call Sheila (399-0501) or Melodye (399-0455) and tell us what you will do. WE NEED YOU!!!!! Light Bulbs - By Sheila Bennen If you find a note indicating your light is out and changing the bulb doesn't cure the problem would you please write your plan of action on the slip and attach it to the pole. We do not know what you are doing and perhaps we can help if the problem is simple or if you can't get to the bulb. If you need help call Sheila at 399-0501.
