The Trail (Part 2) |
It was quite a walk West, but finally you come to a paved street. You continue on the trail to the West, then jog a bit to the right on Camino Holgado. You see the flags in Esperanza Park down the street to the North, but the trail sign points West, so West you go.
You
enter Mesquite Park and examine the picnic table and wooden bridge. The
Park is filled with Mesquite and Palo Verde trees.
You pause for a drink from your water bottle and continue. |
At
the end is another paved street. The sign clearly marks your path.
You investigate. |
A game of doubles is underway. You decide to talk with some men who are resting on the bench. |
The
men take turns playing. The benchwarmers are waiting their turn.
You find out that they play doubles every Monday, Thursday and Saturday mornings. They invite you to play. "People are really friendly here!" you think to yourself. The guy drinking from a water bottle makes you thirsty, so you take another swig from your jug, before saying good-bye. |
